Our goal is to create the world’s first 3D-animated feature film built entirely in an open environment. However, for financial reasons, we will begin with a 15-minute pilot film produced primarily in the Blender studio, to be released July 2015. This crowd-funded short will introduce audiences to the main characters and plot and one of many fantastic new worlds to be explored in the feature film. The pilot is currently being produced by Blender Institute (in Amsterdam) with an international crew of artists and developers. Once the pilot has generated enough public and commercial interest, Cosmos Laundromat will then continue as feature film production – created by Blender Institute and a network of 12 studios from around the world.
